Staking
Staking a tree is not always necessary. In fact, staking a tree can sometimes do more harm than good. Some trees may need extra support, you may consider staking your tree for the following reasons:

- If your newly planted tree is bare root. If you plan on using grow tubes you do not need to stake your tree.
- If your tree does not stand on its own, or if it leans.
- If you live in an area with high wind, or loose soil.
