The Eastern Redbud, famously known for its gorgeous pink blossoms, grows prolifically throughout the eastern United States. Dark green leaves turn bright yellow in Fall, with magenta blossoms emerging in early Spring before the leaves return. The Redbud adapts to and thrives in a wide range of soil types and light levels, making it a versatile pollinator almost any planting site. It can tolerate acidic or alkaline soil, moist areas, and even heavy clay. Its smaller size makes it ideal as an understory tree.
Pollination is essential to fruit and nut production. Attracting pollinators (such as bees, butterflies, birds, and other insects) will greatly increase the amount of pollination occurring on your property. It’s easy to overlook pollinators when planning a food plot, but their importance cannot be overstated. The Redbud flowers in early Spring. Coordinate with late-blooming pollinators to extend the duration of your pollinator season.

Watering | Newly planted trees should be watered regularly. This is the most critical step in the establishment of your new trees. Please see the Watering section under "How to plant and grow" in our Learning Center. |
